to all dentists doing ortho: what is the difference between these 2 transpalatal arches?
To all dentists who do ortho — what’s the difference between these 2 transpalatal arches? 🤔

to all dentists doing ortho! Here’s Part 1 of the transpalatal arch series.
🦷 What’s the difference between these 2 transpalatal arches? 🤔 After my previous video, I could tell many of you were curious! 😄
In Part 1 of this series, I’m breaking down how a transpalatal arch made with traditional molar bands is fabricated 🛠️👩🏻⚕️
(And yes… the photo with separators is actually me 🤭 — I know they’re on the lower arch but you get the idea! Fun fact: we placed separators on each other during residency)
Stay tuned for Part 2 — the digital version! 💻✨ If you found this helpful, do give it a like or save — and let me know what else you’d like to see! 💬

🦷 What’s the difference between these 2 transpalatal arches? 🤔 After my previous video, I could tell many were curious about the answer! 😄
In Part 2 of this series, I explain what digitally printed bands are and the differences with traditional molar bands. If you found this helpful, do give it a like or save — and let me know if you’d like to see more content like this! 💬

Why should we care about growth in orthodontics? #dentist #orthodontics
Understanding facial growth is a fundamental part of orthodontic treatment planning.
Timing and growth assessment matters.
Growth doesn’t occur in just one direction — in orthodontics, we assess growth in three dimensions. Discrepancies across these planes often coexist and influence treatment decisions.

orthodontic bracket bonding (then vs now) - things I do differently now #orthodontics #braces
I was bonding the other day and realized how different my approach is now compared to when I first started placing fixed appliances during residency.
Not that what I do now is perfect — but experience definitely changes the little details of how you work. Always learning… maybe I should revisit this again in a few years and see how it changes. 😄

come romanticize my 10-7 dentist life with me? 🥹
1️⃣ come romanticise my 10-7 work life with me? 🥹 here’s how dentist life has been recently
2️⃣ some days are mostly ortho while other days are mostly general dentistry 🦷 ooh how I love staring out the windows
3️⃣ sometimes my friends get shocked when they see my huge bag. I can fit groceries inside too 🤣
4️⃣ using a bonded fixed retainer jig with this design! Have always been using other types of jigs but I feel this design holds the wire most securely (wire can’t drop out or spin inside the jig). Fixed retainer 3-3 cemented then the wire between the 3&4 sectioned and jig removed.
5️⃣ orthodontics can be so exciting 🥹🥹
6️⃣ I always thought red would be the braces color for cny, guess not 🧧
7️⃣ lunch is the best time for any kind of videos because the compressors are off
8️⃣ I always get an acai craving when I walk past
9️⃣ been collating all the best food recs around the clinics I work at because sometimes patients ask for food recommendations 😛 have this bad habit of sitting on video footage for months (like my marathon footage) cos I get so distracted doing other things

wait you hate the dentist?
Bet you didn’t know this… I used to be dental-phobic — even though my dad is a dentist! I’d always ask, “Will this hurt?” before any procedure, and I definitely wasn’t the easiest patient to treat 😂 But those experiences help me empathize with my own patients so much more today 💙 I totally get why some people dread the dentist. We’re here to make your teeth shine ✨, keep them healthy, and disease-free — so please give us a chance! 😄

Hello! I’m a dentist from Singapore. Through this 30 day challenge I hope to be better at speaking Korean, my third language that I've learnt for more than 15 years.

Singaporean speaks Korean
As the title suggests, I’ll be speaking Korean in front of the camera for the next 30 days. I’ve been learning Korean for over 10 years, but I still sound awkward because I haven’t had many chances to actually speak the language. And I’m also awkward in front of the camera 🥲 hope to improve from this challenge! I’ll also be sharing the story of how I started learning Korean as my third language. I’ll be uploading this gradually and practising more in between!
