What to expect at your first orthodontic visit?

Thinking about braces or aligners but not sure what happens at that first appointment? No surprises here — here's exactly what to expect!

1) Records - getting to know your teeth

Before we talk treatment, we need to get a full picture of what's going on. This means:

  • X-rays — to see what's happening beneath the surface, including your roots, jaw, and any teeth that haven't come through yet

  • Digital models — a quick, comfortable 3D scan of your teeth

  • Consultation — we'll go through everything together, talk about your concerns, and I'll assess your bite and overall dental health

2) Treatment options & duration

Once we've reviewed your records, I'll walk you through the options that suit you best — whether that's braces, clear aligners like Invisalign, or other appliances. We'll also talk about:

  • Which option fits your lifestyle and goals

  • How long treatment is likely to take

  • What to expect during the process

Every smile is different, so treatment plans are always personalised — no one-size-fits-all here!

3) Cost & fees

This is often the big question, and we always want to be upfront about it. At the next appointment, you will receive a document with the breakdown of

  • the estimated cost of your recommended treatment

  • Payment options available

  • What's included (and what isn't)

 4) Next steps — no pressure, ever

If you're ready to go, we can book your next appointment to kick off treatment straight away!

And if you'd like more time to think it over or still have questions, that's completely fine too.

Reach out anytime — your smile journey moves at your pace, not mine.
