Attention parents: 7 signs there could be something wrong with your child’s teeth
Please share this with parents you know!
It’s very common for children to be referred for an orthodontic assessment. However, in reality, not every referral is followed through. Sometimes the referral is forgotten, misplaced, or simply delayed because the child isn’t experiencing any pain.
By the time some children eventually present for an orthodontic assessment, the ideal window for certain growth modification treatments may already have passed. Not every child needs early orthodontic treatment, but an assessment allows us to determine whether treatment is needed now, later, or simply to monitor growth and tooth development.
This list is not exhaustive, but I hope it raises awareness of some of the bite problems that can occur during childhood and why early assessment can sometimes make a significant difference.

singapore parents - if your child has received a letter from the school dentist for an orthodontic consultation, this is what i wish all parents knew.
kids get referred for all sorts of reasons — bites, jaws, teeth coming in a certain way. and honestly, in practice, i see so many of these referrals never followed up on. life gets busy. no pain, no urgency, right?
except some of these windows for treatment only exist before or during puberty. and no — we don't need to wait for all the adult teeth to come out first (biggest myth, and a common reason kids come in "too late").
an assessment now doesn't mean treatment now. it just means we know what we're working with — and can catch the right timing before it passes.
