How We Make Your Child’s First Dental Visit Comfortable | Preschool Dental Tips for Parents
Taking your preschooler to the dentist for the first time? 🦷👧🏻
It’s completely normal for children to feel nervous or unsure — especially when everything is new.
At the first visit, our goal isn’t to force a child into the dental chair. We introduce them to the chair and instruments, let them explore at their own pace, and use simple explanations and role play to help them understand what’s going to happen.
And if they’re not ready to sit alone, that’s okay! They can sit on a parent’s lap, watch while we check Mum or Dad, or simply take some time to get comfortable.
Parents can also prepare their child at home with positive dental storybooks, shows and simple pretend dental visits.
Sometimes it takes more than one visit, and that’s perfectly fine. 💛 The goal is to build a positive experience and help your child feel safe and confident at the dentist.
And yes… stickers and balloons may help too! 🎈✨
